Situated in the lovely village of East Horsley in the beautiful Surrey countryside between Woking and Dorking , this weekend is based in the South East of England. A warm and convivial welcome is guaranteed. The mansion that sits at the heart of the estate was originally built in 1820, designed by Charles Barry, the architect of The Houses of Parliament. The country seat was passed down through the generations, later being the marital home of Ada Lovelace the well-known mathematician and writer, before being bought by Sir Thomas Sopwith, the inventor of the Sopwith Camel aeroplane. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 this year's 2021 weekend will be re-scheduled. Date of the weekend/s will be advised shortly.
This elegant Georgian hotel set in 12 acres of park and woodland lies 4 miles from Gloucester railway station and 5 miles from the Cathedral. Bowden Hall boasts a breathtaking blend of traditional and contemporary design. Locally inspired artworks, bespoke crystal chandeliers, and soft pastel shades create a leisurely atmosphere with a touch of English elegance.
